SPRING JACKET TRENDS
One of the surest signs of spring is watching lightweight, elegant fabrics replace insulating down jackets and dry Gore-Tex in the wardrobe. But what should you invest in when it comes to a new jacket for the season? These are the hottest spring jacket trends right now.

Fashion journalist Marianne Jemtegård, as always, keeps a close eye on international trends both on and off the runway, translating them perfectly for Norwegian fashion retailers. These are the jackets “everyone” will want this spring and summer.
ALL-WHITE STATEMENT

This season, I noticed it especially clearly on the runways in Paris, Milan, Copenhagen and London. Hide the red wine glass, because the all-white statement is more visible than ever.
Designers are highlighting white blazers, oversized bomber jackets and tailoring in shades of ivory, vanilla and off-white. Perhaps this reflects a desire to soften the strong power dressing trend shaping both this spring and the coming autumn fashion landscape?
The silhouettes range from oversized double-breasted jackets to softer, more relaxed cuts, often layered in all-white looks from head to toe. The trend signals a move away from dark minimalism towards a lighter, more sophisticated form of luxury, where the white blazer becomes one of the season’s key statement pieces.
THE UPDATED TRENCH COAT

The trench coat continues as a key jacket on the SS26 runways, but is updated with softer silhouettes, lightweight fabrics and more deconstructed cuts. Designers are presenting everything from oversized floor-length styles to minimalist versions with clean lines and subtle details, often in sand, stone and pale neutral tones.
The result is a more relaxed and modern interpretation of the classic trench coat, where functionality meets refined tailoring.
In street style, I am seeing a huge amount of cropped trench coats, often featuring exaggerated shoulders, oversized flaps and statement straps. As if to toughen up the timeless fashion classic, this season’s cropped trench coats often carry a slight rock ’n’ roll attitude. And I love it!
THE RETURN OF THE DENIM JACKET

The denim jacket takes on a more feminine and sculptural direction on the SS26 runways, where classic denim is updated with peplum waists, defined silhouettes and fitted tailoring.
Designers combine rebellious workwear references with elegant details such as narrow shoulders, corset-inspired cuts and voluminous hips, giving the denim jacket a more sophisticated and sculpted expression.
The result is a new generation of denim jackets balancing raw denim with a distinctly feminine aesthetic. Could this be the perfect piece to throw over an airy summer dress on cooler evenings?
THE FEMININE BOMBER

Glossy fabrics, lace, brocade and delicate embroidery are all details appearing on the classic sporty bomber jacket this spring. Perfect for fashion girls wanting to add a tougher edge to feminine pieces such as slim dresses, pencil skirts and elegant proportions.
On the runway, designers soften the look with cropped cuts, satin textures, defined waists and rounded shoulders, giving the bomber jacket a refined feel without losing its relaxed attitude.
The contrast between the sporty jacket and feminine silhouettes creates a modern styling approach that defines many of the season’s runway looks, and one that is incredibly easy to recreate in everyday dressing.
HIGH NECKLINES

If you ask me which styling trick will instantly update your spring and summer wardrobe right now, it is adding more drama around the neckline. Collars, draped scarves and high necklines on blouses, jackets and tops immediately make a look feel “SS26” in my eyes.
This signature styling detail, which I see across so many SS26 collections, highlights a quiet yet powerful elegance and restrained sensuality.
One of my absolute favourite collections this season comes from Chloé. Here, this expression takes on an especially poetic dimension through soft silhouettes, flowing fabrics and delicate layering that creates a feeling of romantic protection around the neck and face.
It is a collection that whispers rather than shouts, where the high neckline becomes a symbol of intimacy, strength and delicate femininity.
This season’s high neckline feels like a love letter to fragility and freedom at the same time. Strong yet soft. Powerful yet delicate. Exactly what spring’s most beautiful garments should be, if you ask me.
