Responsible Trade – Every Day
Texcon is a buying group for independent stores. Each member makes its own decisions, yet we share a common understanding:
We hold responsibility for the environment, for the people who make the clothes we sell, and for making it easier for both stores and customers to make better choices. We do not promise more than we can deliver. Our work is continuous, focused on concrete actions that create measurable results – both internally and across the industry.
What We Do
Texcon works closely with key actors such as Norwegian Retailers’ Fund (Handelens Miljøfond), Position Green, and Eco-Lighthouse (Miljøfyrtårn) to strengthen our own and our members’ sustainability efforts.
Eco-Lighthouse (Miljøfyrtårn) certification – Texcon’s head office is certified, and we assist members who wish to certify their businesses.

Member of Virke (The Federation of Norwegian Enterprise) – Texcon actively contributes to the industry work of Virke, developing guidelines on producer responsibility and circular solutions.
Transparency Act (Åpenhetsloven) – We guide suppliers in documenting human rights and working conditions, enabling them to meet the requirements of Norway’s Transparency Act while strengthening their value chains. We also provide our members with practical tools that simplify data collection, making compliance efficient and transparent.
Position Green – We use this platform to map and analyze our environmental impact, helping us improve where it matters most. It also provides legal guidance and best practices for gathering relevant data.
Norwegian Retailers’ Fund (Handelens Miljøfond) – Texcon cooperates with this fund to reduce plastic waste and promote circular solutions in the industry.

Responsible suppliers – We work closely with suppliers to ensure better practices, greater transparency, and increased awareness of environmental and labor conditions.
Easier for Small Stores
Many of Texcon’s members are small, independent shops. We make sure they too have access to the right solutions, tools, and updated information – giving them the ability to work responsibly without navigating complex regulations alone.
The Road Ahead
We don’t believe in static sustainability goals – we believe in continuous improvement. That’s why we work actively to ensure our members are informed, have access to tools, and can adapt to new requirements and expectations. We monitor, we facilitate, and we take responsibility.
